How can I find out what my ring size is?
If you are in the Toronto area, I would be happy to meet with you to determine your ring size. Alternatively, you can drop into a local jewellery shop and have them size your finger. If you are trying to surprise someone and don't know their ring size, you can borrow one of their rings or try it on one of your fingers and then have that finger sized. If all else fails, you can contact us for a complimentary ring sizer that can be mailed to you through Canada Post Letter Mail.

An item I love is out of stock, what now?

You can contact us and we can create a custom order for you. Some pieces are one-of-a-kind and therefore must be snatched up as soon as possible!

Do you recycle metal?

Yes. We can recycle most precious metal alloys and provide you with a metal credit towards a custom project or to use in our online store. Please contact us for more information.

Can I have my piece engraved?
Yes. We can laser engrave inscriptions onto most pieces of jewellery. This is a popular choice for the inside of a ring. If you are interested in adding engraving to your piece, please contact us for more information and the list of available fonts.

JEWELLERY 101

What does “lab-grown” mean?

Lab-grown gemstones are identical chemically, physically and optically to natural gems, but grown in a lab. This process takes place through two methods: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). Lab-grown gemstones are often up to 50% less expensive than natural stones, making them a beautiful, budget-friendly option.

What is an “Enhanced” gemstone?

Enhanced gemstones are natural gems that have been treated to alter the colour or fix flaws and inclusions. For example, extreme heat may be applied to natural sapphires, resulting in improved clarity and a more cohesive colour.

What is Moissanite?

Moissanite is a gemstone created from silicon carbide, whereas a diamond is created from carbon. Originally discovered in a meteorite, this gemstone is now most often created in a lab. Known for their exceptional brilliance and hardness, they make an excellent alternative to diamonds.

Where will my diamonds and gemstones come from?

Working with industry professionals in Toronto, I source gemstones from all over the world. I work exclusively with conflict-free diamonds and provide certifications for all of our diamond centre stones. If you are looking for a specific stone, such as a Canadian Diamond or a Montana Sapphire, I will do my best to find the perfect stone for you!

THE 4C's

What are the 4C’s?

Colour, Cut, Carat and Clarity. The 4C's are a universal method for assessing the quality of diamonds, worldwide.

Colour

Diamond colour is graded on a scale of D (being colourless) to Z (being completely saturated). To achieve the whitest and most colourless stones, I recommend choosing a stone in the D-G range.

Cut

Cut referrers to the quality of the geometry of the stone. The better the cut, the more sparkle and brightness your stone will have. The cut is a very important quality to look for in a diamond and is listed as “Good”, “Very Good” or “Excellent,” for example.

Carat

Carat refers to the weight of the diamond. The higher the carat weight, the more valuable a diamond will be (in combination with the other C’s, which determine the overall value).

Clarity

Diamonds are formed naturally under intense heat and pressure, and for this reason, they have varying internal and surface characteristics called inclusions. Clarity refers to the types and quantities of inclusions present in each stone. EWFJ uses "eye clean" diamonds (VS/SI+ quality), meaning that the inclusions are not visible to the naked eye.
